A little about me…

I am a firm believer that the most interesting & colorful people in life are those who have known defeat. They have had to endure suffering, struggle, & loss in one form or another. They are those who have had to find their way out of the depths of despair & keep pushing forward. These persons have a appreciation, sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern.

My journey on the path to spiritual enlightenment began approximately 5 years ago. I didn’t know then that I was on a path, let alone a spiritual one.

It all started with the goal of getting back into shape and start removing the bad habits that I picked up along the way. Little did I know, this would be the start of me dismantling my entire life & everything I thought was important to this point.

During this self-realization process I immersed myself in research. I began to study many of the great thinkers of our time & one’s long past. Ideas & perspectives locked away in books, some of the best that’s been thought & said, just waiting to be discovered by the next curious mind.

Alan Watts said it best, “Waking up to who you are requires letting go of who you imagine yourself to be.”

I now know that the path to enlightenment can be a destructive one. In the beginning, it has nothing to do with becoming better or being happier. It is the complete eradication of everything we imagined to be true.

When we arrived on this planet as screaming bundles of joy, we were incapable of doing anything other than living in the moment…We had no idea that we had a body, let alone that we should be ashamed of it, & when we looked around everything just was, there was nothing that was too scary or too expensive. We were simply a human BEING!

When we first explore into our “New world”, we received messages from people around us about the way things are. From the moment we could take it in, we are filled with a lifetimes worth of beliefs (Many have nothing to do with who we are or what is necessarily true.)

In a genuine effort to protect & educate us, our parents (Assisted by society at large), passed on the beliefs they learned from their parents, who learned them from their parents, & so on. See, we are basically living in a illusion based on someone else’s beliefs.

The trouble is, these limiting subconscious beliefs have nothing to do with who they really are or who we really are… We are living our lives on the momentum of false beliefs that have nothing to do with who we really are.

But I digress, my story is more about finding my spiritual path & how I ended up practicing Sound & Reiki Healing Therapies. Enlightenment is something that one starts to achieve when practicing spirituality as a way of life.

We live in one of the most amazing times in our history, with the ability to instantaneously connect with people all over the world. We can answer just about any question in a matter of seconds with “Dr. Google”. We can learn & become experts in almost anything we desire. There’s not a lot to complain about these days unless of course you find yourself like I found myself, unsatisfied & unfulfilled. Asking questions like, “There has to be more to life than this”. We were not put on this magical world to pay bills & die.

“Your profession is not what brings home your weekly paycheck, your profession is what you’re put here on earth to do, with such passion and intensity that it becomes spiritual in calling.”

—Vincent van Gogh

Spirituality does not require any specific belief. The spiritual path is all about oneness with the universe and finding our part in it. These ideas will probably resonate differently with many of you & that’s ok… I’m not trying to preach any particular religion, ideology, or dogma.

I believe one of the biggest challenges in this modern world is to remain in a state of balance. When I say balance I mean, having balance in all areas of one’s life. Balance in relationships, nutrition, stress, sleep, & last but most definitely not least spiritual balance.

When balance of the body, mind & emotions is achieved, consciousness can develop.

Really it’s even easier than this. I think we can all agree… To put it simply, we are all here on this planet to be Happy & to Love one another. Of course many arguments can be made out of other very important reasons, but I do truly feel that everything goes back to these two simple tenets. Love and Happiness.

We won’t ever truly be happy until we achieve balance. I mean let’s face it, the entire reason we work so hard & put ourselves under so much pressure to perform our entire lives is to be able to spend as much time doing the things we love with the people we love, as much as possible. We will all look back on our lives with feelings of joy, reliving all of the wonderful memories we made.

It’s a matter of being brave enough to live the life of your dreams, according to your vision & purpose. (Instead of the expectations & opinions of others.)

“Follow your Bliss & the Universe will open doors for you where there were only walls”.

We all have our own gift in this life, untapped, we live our life’s in the shadow of what we are really capable of.

There are perspective shifting events in life, that when the timing is right & we have achieved balance, we are able to tune into that frequency of our true potential.

Remember, there will NEVER be anyone exactly like you. We have all been given special gifts & talents to share with the world. Even though everyone has special gifts & talents, nobody will use their’s quite the same way you do. You have a way of being in the world & a perspective that’s unique to you. You are the only one who thinks your thoughts the way you do. You have created your own unique reality & are living your life according to your own unique path.

“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”

  • Pablo Picasso

When I started down this path 5 years ago, I started to feel the benefits of a clean diet and wanted to shout from the roof tops about it. The feeling was so amazing that I could not stop raving about it!

I quickly realized by the way I would light up when talking about health & wellness that I had finally found my passion. We’ve all heard the saying “Do what you love, because if you can find a way to do it, it’s not work.”

The next logical step was to start a website, which I did…I started (intended to be a place where people could go & learn about how & why we get sick due to our modern lifestyle & what to do about it…)

I quickly realized that wasn’t the right medium for me. I ended up sacrificing my own growth to try & keep up with writing, marketing & maintaining the website. I was lacking balance.

So I decided to take a step back & continue my own education. Boy, was that the best thing I ever did!

This will make my 3rd career change, which come to find out is actually pretty reasonable considering we are expected to know exactly what we want or who we even are by the time we are 18.

I began to realize in the middle of my transformation that I’m here to be of service. I wasn’t sure how yet, but that would come later. I knew it would have something to do with helping others, I just didn’t know how yet. Going back to school wasn’t appealing (Considering I’m still paying off student loans for a industry that is struggling & almost impossible to make a decent living on.

In the last year, the manifestation process has really taken off for me and I found my transformation starting to rapidly accelerate. Follow that up with a life changing Spiritual retreat in Peru. I now know what it is that I’m supposed to be doing.

Knowing exactly what you want & stopping at nothing to get it.

I was first exposed to Tibetan singing bowls approximately 5 years ago by a friend who has been deeply involved with breath & sound work for most of her life. Since then, with the help of my friend, I’ve been able to acquire my own set of Ancient Tibetan singing bowls, along with a few quartz singing bowls & a Tibetan gong. It didn’t take long before I began giving singing bowl sessions to all my closest family & friends.

I quickly discovered the multitude of benefits that each person experienced & was amazed. I started to do more research & realized the implications of this wonderful technique.

Sound and frequency affects every atom & every cell. When an organ or body part is healthy, it creates a natural resonant frequency in harmony with the rest of the body. When the vibration of a part of the body is out of harmony, we have disease. With disease, a different sound pattern is established in the affected part of the body. When sound is projected into the diseased area, correct harmonic patterns are restored.

Modern science is just beginning to rediscover the healing secrets of this ancient form of sound healing.

The resonance produced by these hand-crafted bowls can measurably improve human immune function, lower heart rate and blood pressure, soothe pain in cancer patients, and drastically reduce stress levels. Indeed, the bowls dissipate stress to such a tremendous degree that the body becomes a perfect receptacle of deep healing

Sound therapy takes us into deeper states of relaxation. When the body achieves deep states such as Alpha, theta & delta brain waves, the body begins to regenerate & heal. Sound Healing is founded on the premise that all matter is vibrating at specific frequencies. Science has proven that sound, or vibration, has a strong impact upon substance. For example, the study of Cymatics has shown how sound creates geometric patterns in matter. Dr. Emoto has proven that sound changes the molecular structure of water. However, more importantly, sound changes consciousness. Many ancient civilizations and modern indigenous cultures have used sound to heal and access higher levels of consciousness for thousands of years.

There are many methods of healing with sound. Mantras and chants have been used for thousands of years. Many acoustic instruments are used in a variety of ways to effect change. The human voice is perhaps the most powerful musical instrument.

Sound therapy has been shown to improve symptoms associated with, but not limited to, the following:

  • Back pain
  • ADHD
  • Migraines
  • Chronic pain
  • Insomnia
  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Brain fog
  • Fatigue, etc…

In the months leading up to my recent trip to Peru (Knowing that I’m here to be of service in some way) a Reiki class came into my awareness & without much hesitation, I booked the course.

When you have an inspired thought, you have to trust it & you have to act on it.

With all this knowledge of the healing benefits of sound therapy (Add to that the healing benefits of Reiki), it all came together in the perfect way!

Our job is not to figure out the “how”, the how will show up out of the commitment & belief in the “what”. The how’s are the domain of the universe, it always knows the shortest, quickest, fastest, most harmonious way between you & your dream.
